If you look at the history of civilization, there is a consistent culture shift that happens over time. Politics and political leaders play a significant role in the development and stability of a culture. On the other hand, political leaders and the policies they make show where the hearts of constituents are at. People rise to power because their ideas align with the behaviors of the people whom they serve. When the values and character of the leaders do not align with the voice of the people, they are removed from power. Some countries do this through voting and other countries do it through assonating their political opponents. The culture of the people will determine which way political unrest is handed out.

In America we are no stranger to politics. Even though our country is relatively young compared to other nations, we still have a track record of almost two hundred and fifty years of selecting our political leaders and the role they play in our life. As nations age, there is often a culture shift that happens. Religion plays a huge role in how the culture of a nation view the laws and rules that govern its people. America was founded as a nation dependent on our Creator who is God. Our rights come from God and are overseen by man through the will of the people who elect these leaders. Here is an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

A culture shift will happen when people rebel.

In America, our nation was created as a nation under God’s authority. Our pledge of allegiance contains the words “one nation under God.” Our money even has the words “In God We Trust” printed on it. By design, our country was founded on principles acknowledging God’s divine authority over us. As our country ages, we are seeing a huge culture shift, mainly because people in our culture are turning away from God. When people turn from God through rebellion, they elect leaders who will represent their fleshly desires over what God sets as divine authority. These leaders often exhibit characteristics that are counter to the word of God.

Where your heart is at, so your vote will be also. Evil, corrupt, slanderous, contemptable individuals seek leaders just like themselves. They want leaders to make laws emboldening their evil and demonic behavior. These demonic driven souls seek to legalize child sacrifice, perversions of sexual acts and theft from other individuals. It is very unlikely that these individuals have a relationship with their creator as their behaviors parallel with Satan. As the culture shift become clearer and moral decay of our society increases, we will see more and more demonic demands taking place.

As a nation, we need to turn back to God. We must elect Godly men who fear him and seek his truth. Our role in all of this is two parts. First, we must spread the Gospel as to win over more people for the Kingdom. Outside of cheating, elections in America are won by a majority vote. A majority of yes votes or a majority of no votes. A majority of votes for one candidate over another. A majority of electoral votes to win the presidency. We need leaders who look like Exodus 18:21.

21 Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.

Understand your role in the Kingdom of God and understand that there is power in your vote. While God is ultimately the one who allows leaders to rule over us, we still have a free will choice to make. We should not cast our vote to vote for the lesser of two evils because at the end of the day two evils are both evil. Instead, we should focus on prayer. Pray for our leaders and pray for wisdom to choose men who will lead our great nation in accordance with its founding of being endowed by its creator. We are at a crossroads as the societal decay that we are experiencing is growing quickly. Each election cycle becomes the most important election of our lifetime because each passing year, things are getting worse than the last.

Ultimately as followers of Christ we know that our home is not of this world. Our eternity is found in our creator. While we are on this earth, we have a duty to create as many avenues as possible for people to hear the Gospel. This is only possible if our freedoms are protected. Many other places on earth are not afforded the freedoms that we have. Next time you vote, remember that you are choosing a leader that will be under the authority of God, who will possess the power to enhance your freedoms or take them away. Many leaders though out the Bible were heavily flawed. We are not to cast judgement on their flaws but to seek out leaders who will open doors for freedom. Choose wisely as not only is your nation at stake, but your freedoms are as well.
