Facts trump feelings and many people seem to have a problem with that. Facts are truth and feelings are perceived truth. To understand this, one must be able to separate emotion from reality. Often times people weight on their emotions too strong while compromising facts and truth. Feelings are fine to the extent that the disclaimer of my opinion or I feel is added to the statement. When this is done, people can recognize that there may be part truth and part feelings intertwined into the statement.
I bring this topic up because more often than not, people pretend like their statements are facts and they want validation for their perspectives. This behavior is dangerous because it clouds the water of lies and reality. When interpreting and referencing scripture, it is highly important that facts trump feelings. I guaranty that when you read some Bible passages, you will not see them favorably. In fact, you may completely dismiss words of God that contradict your behavior your feelings. Just because you don’t want to accept something or talk about it, does not mean that it doesn’t exist.
Facts trump feelings when truth is present.
The Bible is filled with truth. To live your life outside of biblical truths is to live in rebellion. One of the main reasons why people have a problem with certain Bible verses is because the verses point out flaws in their behavior. To get around these facts, these types of people tend to cling to paraphrased Bibles. They do this because truth is distorted, and the verse reads as part truth and part manipulation. The tough parts of the Bible disappear when you change words or phrases and replace them with feelings and emotions. The crafty individuals that put these books together know exactly what they were doing.
When an individual becomes validated by an invalid book, they now use that book to promote their agenda. Actual truths are challenged by partial truths, and we are told that it is ok to agree to disagree. When behavior like this is exhibited, it means that the person living in a lie wants the truth to be watered down so that their manipulation tool can become credible. The passivist response is to blanket the situation by saying at least they are reading their Bible. We shouldn’t be praising and patting people on the back who are indulging in lies to make their behaviors acceptable.
Just be aware of the behavior as I am seeing more and more of this. It is something that most people don’t think about, and many people are unaware of its consequences. We should always seek to pursue the richest truth in its rawest form. Facts trump feelings regardless if someone chooses to pursue a watered-down scripture. Truth repels lies and we should constantly seek the truth in life.
