Christians need to toughen up. I know this will offend a lot of you, but many Christians that I see are wimps and need a fire lit under their butt. When I say toughen up, I mean get ready for the spiritual battle. Participating in a spiritual battle will require you to use your words by speaking truth, practice discernment, humble yourselves and put your foot to prayer. Many Christians have sat on the sideline of the battle. In fact, many people have actually joined the enemy and advanced secular propaganda through affirmation and counter biblical stances. Some people participate because they actually believe the lies of Satan. Others are cowards, hate confrontation and find it easier to survive by being nonconfrontational.

Keyboard warriors are not spiritual warriors. It is easy to hide behind your computer and say that you are for something or against something. But standing face to face with the enemy makes these people melt for some reason. Being a quiet coward is just as bad as being a participant. If you are not willing to speak out and rebuke sin when given the opportunity to do so, you are complicit in the behavior as well. We need more Paul’s that are willing to say what needs to be said no matter who it is being said to. We need less Peter’s that crumble under pressure and wimp out when confronted by a secular world.

Revelation 21:8 New American Standard Bible

But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

The best way to toughen up is to share the Gospel.

I do not care what your personality type is. Whether or not you are outgoing or a recluse. Every single one of us was put on this earth with a purpose. God can use every single one of us to further his kingdom. He can someone like Paul to boldly proclaim the Gospel as much as he can use a wimp like Peter to do the same. There is no excuse for avoiding confrontation. You are either on team Jesus or you are not. Each one of us has a sphere of influence which is the people that we interact with on a daily basis. You could have the opportunity to share the Gospel with a co-worker, neighbor, someone at the grocery store, even a family member or friend. If you are not joining the spiritual battle and reaching out to people in your sphere, then what are you doing?

I hear people say that they don’t want to offend someone, they don’t want to lose a friend over the discussion, or they don’t want to be rejected by the other person. If you believe in heaven and hell and understand the magnitude of eternity, then how could you be fine without someone else not knowing what you know? Are you fine with the other person going to hell as long as you didn’t offend anyone? Seriously, come on, toughen up and start using your words. Someone cared enough about you to share the Gospel with you. The least you could do is pay it forward to someone else or actually obey one of the commands of Jesus by going out into the world and sharing the Gospel.

Quit looking for political leaders to reshape our culture and do the job that you are supposed to do as a Christian. Quit looking at your church leaders to put in the work that you should be doing. That kind of wimpy, nonconfrontational behavior is repulsive. Do better, emulate your God, care enough about others that you care what happens to their soul. Quit listening to the devil fill your head with doubt, fear and lies. If you care more about your relationship with Jesus than your relationship with the devil, do something about it. Show the world who you serve by being a light in a dark world. Toughen up and lead by example.
