Words matter. The correct word used can completely change the meaning of a sentence. Many words in our language mean similar things but do not carry the same weight or define the situation correctly. The devil is a master of lies and deceiver of words. When society starts using a new word to describe a similar situation or definition, more than likely it is done to move the meaning of the word off of its original intent. For today’s discussion I am going to discuss the word difference between baby and fetus.

At my Bible study this week, we were reading Luke 1 which is about the birth of John the Baptist and the birth of Jesus. This chapter talks about John the Baptist and Jesus both in the womb. What I found significant is that in every translation of the Bible that I could find, the word to describe a child in the womb was baby, not fetus. This is significant for several reasons. First, if you have read different Bible translations, often they are significantly different from each other in word and phrasing, but they get to the same point most of the time. However, not one of those Bibles changed the definition of a child in the womb from baby to fetus. Why is that?

Let’s understand the history of many of these Bibles. Even though the original translations may have been made hundreds of years ago, most of these Bibles have been revised within the last couple of decades. If the correct modern word to use to describe a child in the womb was in fact fetus, then why did none of these translations change the word baby to fetus? The Bibles didn’t change the word because it doesn’t fit. The word fetus was first used over 500 years ago. Fetus was commonly used by a secular crowd to describe the development stages of a child in the womb. Notice how the Bible didn’t change the word baby to follow a secular society trying to word play and manipulate the definition.

Secondly, why does the Bible stay consistent with the word baby? This is done because every point from conception to birth and after birth, the child is known as a baby. The same word describes every stage of development as well as a newborn. To me this is God showing us that the value of life is the same at all stages, before birth and after birth. Since God identifies all stages from conception to newborn as well as a baby, he is telling us that we should value all life the same. There is no lesser value for a baby being in the womb as a baby outside the womb. In fact, in Luke 1:13-15 God fills John the Baptist with the Holy Spirit while he is still in the womb. God is showing us in this passage how valuable the baby in the womb is.

Luke 1:13-15 New American Standard Bible

13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall name him John. 14 You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice over his birth. 15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while still in his mother’s womb.

It is baby, not fetus.

The devil word plays relentlessly. A secular society that is manipulated by the devil assists and participates in word play. I am going to put this argument to rest once and for all. The secular world will consistently use the word fetus to describe a baby to minimize its value and try to turn it into something that it isn’t. People who claim to be Christians better take note. This is pointed directly at you. If you claim to be a Christian and are using the word fetus to describe a baby in the womb, you are participating in the devil’s work. Don’t believe me? Go back to your Bible and show me where the word fetus is used. It isn’t there. If you are actually a Christ follower, you will value the word of God and seek to follow it in your life. You cannot be aligned with God and playing with the devils words.

I understand that the word fetus is carelessly thrown around by the progressive and liberal groups for a reason. If you want to follow them and identify with them then go for it but quit using the word Christian to manipulate your cause. If you realized that you are in error and want to change your ways, then great. That is a welcomed move. If you want to keep using satanic words that are contrary to the words of God, quit saying that you are on my team. My team is team Jesus, and I seek to follow the word of God. Good and evil words cannot exist together. I am tired of churches being inclusive and trying to pacify satanic tongues. Since churches don’t have the spine to say it, I will. Repent from your sinful behavior. Stop supporting child sacrifice (aborting babies). Quit manipulating the words of God to serve the devil. I don’t care if you think that I am wrong. This topic isn’t up for debate. I dare you, go ahead and find the word fetus in the Bible.

Since God identifies all human life the same as I laid out above, all life has the same significance in God’s eyes. If you end the life of a baby, then it is murder. There is no other definition or word that will sneak you out of bearing accountability for your actions. However, we have a loving and forgiving God. God will forgive your sins if you repent and seek his forgiveness. He will even forgive you if you have participated in the murder of a baby. God loves you as one of his children and he wants you to come to him. Do not feel that you have committed an unforgiveable sin. That is the devil manipulating words in your head. Lay your sin, heartache and sorrows at God’s feet and let him do the heavy lifting in your life to repair your soul. All of our sins are measured equally and separate us from God, so we all fall short. Understand that God loves you and is there to welcome you with open arms should you choose to seek him.

Luke 1:39-45 New American Standard Bible

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39 Now at this time Mary set out and went in a hurry to the hill country, to a city of Judah, 40 and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 And she cried out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And how has it happened to me that the mother of my Lord would come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her]by the Lord.”
