Lots of times when evil speaks, many Christians are silent on the issue at hand. But when a fellow brother or sister interject when evil speaks, these same people will be the first ones to throw out Bible verses trying to silence them. You are either on the side of evil or righteousness, there is not an in between. There is only God’s definition of what is right and everything counter to that is wrong and falls short. There is no grey area to have one foot in and one foot out of righteousness. It is repulsive to me when I have to deal with people like this. When I interact with this behavior, I am reminded of Revelation 3:15-16. This set of verses is how I approach most situations.
Revelation 3:15-16 New American Standard Bible
15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
If you are wondering why, you have not heard this passaged mentioned at church before, it is because your pastor is one of the people that I am describing. Passivists are terrified of the evil that attacks God’s word. They are terrified so much that they prefer to attack brothers and sisters with their stupid rendition of out of context Bible verses so that they avoid confrontation with the darkness. These biblical fools are silent every time they should be speaking light into a situation, but almost always resort to spreading darkness on the light of others.
When evil speaks, cowards are quiet.
We recently just had a presidential election in case you missed it. You would have to be living under a rock or hiding in your basement since covid to not know what just happened. Many social and economic issues were at stake in this election. You can often tell how a person voted based on the words that come out of their mouth. You don’t need to know what party or candidate they support. All you have to do is ask a few questions about let’s say the topic of abortion, taxes, immigration or another hot topic and you will most certainly know where the other person stands. Our vote is an outward expression of where our heart is. Let me unpack that a bit.
If your conscience is tugged on a specific issue because what the candidate believes does not follow what the Bible says, then more than likely you are filled with the Holy Spirit. If you claim to be a Christian but see nothing wrong with behavior or ideals that are clearly and blatantly going against the Bible, then you probably are not filled by the Holy Spirit. Here is my disclaimer on that. I don’t know the heart, only God does. I see the fruit and God gave me a mind with discernment so I should be able to see the Holy Spirit at work in some way. It isn’t judgement if we are observing characteristic traits and actions and reporting what we see. Judging is condemning the other person to hell and that is God’s job, not ours.
I am directly talking to the group of self-labeled Christians who ignore what the Bible says, twist and manipulate scripture to affirm your stance on an issue and are silent on issues that contradict the Bible. With all of these behaviors, somehow you find the courage to throw out Bible verses against brothers and sisters that call out the flawed behavior. You cannot be silent on sin, vocal at silencing truth and still call yourself a Christian. You may be a Christian in name only but when evil speaks, you are nowhere to be found. In fact, much of the noise and lies being peddled comes from people just like yourself. The same people that support blatant sinful behavior.
For the record, I am not removing the blemishes and accountability needed on the righteous side either. There is plenty of blame to be thrown around as we all fall short and are sinners. I am just noting that the fruitless, affirming, child sacrifice group that clung to toilet paper instead of their Bible during covid needs to stop protecting sin. If you want to be on team Jesus, then why are you doing and saying things that would not be accepted by him. When a fellow brother sister calls you out on the behavior, you would prefer to attack them instead of seeking to change the path that you are on.
When evil speaks, every Christian should speak against it. It doesn’t matter what political party you are part of or what candidate that you prefer, just stop hiding from the truth. Our country has a lot of growing up and spiritual maturing to do. Good cannot unify with evil. They are oil and water and do not mix. Get that idea out of your head right now that we should unite this country. The one and only thing that we should unite behind is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If we were united with Jesus, our problems of disagreement would cease to exist. We have a heart problem in this country. We have a lack of Jesus problem in this country. The first step towards putting our country on the right track is when evil speaks, put it in its place and cover the darkness with light.
