You are better off not going to church if your church does not speak the truth. As the saying goes, garbage in garbage out. There are lots of churches with messages that are just complete garbage. I happened to stumble on one of these such churches today. I’m not going to list their name here, not because I am afraid to identify them, but because I am focused on addressing the issue at hand rather than dealing with a symptom. This particular church is just like many other garbage dumpsters that call themselves churches of God. I’m not going to pretend like these churches add any value because they don’t. The lies that are spewed from the pulpit mock God and train up an army of incompetent lackey’s to go out into the world and be foot soldiers for the devil.
You might be wondering what I am talking about. So here it is, I will rip the Band-Aid off hard and fast. Affirming and inclusive churches are an abomination and shouldn’t even identify as a church. They are a conglomeration of fallacies and false doctrine. If you have read my book one of the warning signs that you should watch out for is churches that exploit and manipulate Mark 12:30-31. This is one of the most common verses that faux churches use to manipulate their congregation. Pathetic and rotten fruit from the pulpit will add words or phrases to this verse to amplify their demonic message. For those of you who are unfamiliar identifying the verse, but have probably heard it before, here it is.
Mark 12:30-31 New American Standard Bible 1995
30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
What exactly does it mean to love your neighbor as yourself? First, you must look at verse 30 where we are to love God. Unless we love God unconditionally, then there is no way that we can understand or live out verse 31. If we find ourselves living out verse 30, then loving your neighbor as yourself would be to share the Gospel with your neighbor. This can be done through words and actions. How we treat our neighbor should be a reflection of how we honor God. Our love for God is lived out when we show our neighbor God’s traits in our life. However, loving your neighbor is never done by living out sin, accepting sin, or making false correlations to nonexistent scripture.
You are better off not going to church if you will be told lies.
Since God is truth, lies obviously do not come from God. If we are fully loving God, then as an affirmation of our love, we should demonstrate God’s character to our neighbors. Our demonstration should include truth in love, not lies in love. Affirming and inclusive churches are demonstrating demonic love in lies. They are not showing God’s character by coddling and affirming sin. They are not showing unconditional love to God by boldly living in disobedience to his word. What they are doing is not a mistake or a different interpretation of scripture. It is demonic inclusiveness and their words have Satan’s hands all over them.
In my book I talk about accepting the sinner where they are in life. I talk about how we should love everyone equally as children of God. I also talk at length about truth, lies, and accountability. There should never be an acceptance of sin allowed inside the church walls ever. Period. Everyone is welcome to come to the alter, but they should not be permitted to live out their sinful lifestyles inside the house of worship. If the pastor and elder board loved God as in Mark 12:30 and lived in obedience to his word (the Bible), then this type of behavior would never be accepted in their church.
I will leave you with this set of Bible verses describing the church leadership in affirming and inclusive churches. They are exactly who is being talked about in this set of verses in Matthew.
Matthew 7:15-20 New American Standard Bible 1995
A Tree and Its Fruit
15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.
